Starlight is first up and above ground.

Lucky is watching the group again. He was lucky before, could he be again?

General came above ground next. He saw lucky in the bushes but ignored him, the only adult female who wasn't pregnant already was Sage, and she was an elder meerkat.

Lucky growled. He would have to try his luck elsewhere.

General just smirked, almost all of the females being pregnant just made his job a lot easier.

Diara emerged, and looked around iritably. As her pregnancy advanced, she was becoming more adn more agressive.

Riverdance also came above ground, it wasn't in her nature to show very much agression, even when pregnant, the most agressive she'd get is stealing food, that's it.

Starlight saw Diara and Riverdance, she glared to both of them. With so many pups on the way, there would need to be more adults, but if she evicted them now, there would be less adults in the future, she decided, she might have to narrow both liiters down to three, even if it ment taking out one or more pups...

Riverdance noticed Starlight's glare and slowly crept toward her mother, she started to groom her and submit to her, she was doing whatever it takes to stay.

Starlight accepts the grooming.

Akila bounds above ground. she was excited about becoming an older sister.

Abasi joined her.

She pounced on him playfully and nipped at his ears.

Sage emerges to greet the new day and begins to sun herself. She observes her new group. There was still tention between the females but she was happy to be in the safty of another group but she knows since the group is small, they're going to face many challanges especially when a pup explosion hits the group.

Akila saw Sage and chirped happily, she bounded over and peeped a hello, then bounded back to her brother for more playfighting.

Starlight looked to Sage, she was no longer worried that Sage might try to overthrow her, and she definatly seemed to be good with pups, something Starlight often looks for in members of her family.

Sage smiles and peeps a hello back to Akila. Pups have always brought her so much joy and she'll do anything for them. She continues sentry duty determined to make sure that the pups live to adulthood.

Starlight suddenly wished Sage had joined earlier. She sighed at the memory of her sweet and innocent pups Mikeyal, Akina, and Akida... and their demise. Akida, the only male other than Abasi in the litter, was tragicly killed in a burrow raid by the Dares mob, they died out very recently, but they took Akida with them. And Akina was next to fall to a horrid fate, Starlight was most affected by Akina's death because she knows she could have done something to stop it from happening, if she had just turned around when she heard her cries, she had seen the other group, the Oreos, bolt for their burrow and thought the pup cries were on of theirs, she was too panicked from the eagle to recognize her voice. Then Mikeyal, she was being watched by Rex and had seemed to vanish. Starlight almost felt a tear pulling at her eye, but she wouldn't show it, she needed to be strong, for her family.

Unaware of Starlight's sad memories flowing back to her, Sage watches the sky the only thing that grabs her attention is a flock of vultures soring over head. Nothing to be wary about.

Starlight forces the unfortunate past out of her mind, if she didn't focous on the future, it may end the same way, she made lead calls to go foraging.

Akila and Abasi were right behind her.

General kept a lookout standing every once in a while to look around.

Riverdance followed but lagged behind.

Digger followed closely.

Akila ran slightly ahead of Abasi and chirped, Bet you can't outrun me! She started to bolt around the members of the group.

Abasi, wanting to one day help chase away outsiders, took off after her.

Riverdance hoped her pups will live to get to play like that.

Digger narrowed his eyes. He felt... distanced. As if he didn't belong.

Akila ran behind Digger and peeked out from behind him as Abasi came running over. She giggled and ducked back behind him before turning around and running off again. Abasi chased after her.

Digger blinked at his half siblings. This is no time to play...

Abasi chirped back to him, why not!?! It's fun! he laughed as he continued to chase Akila.

Akila chirped back, yeah, lighten up will ya, she then saw her brother coming and continued running.

Sage is the last to leave the burrow to go foraging taking her time lagging behind. She isnt very fast like she used to be. She watches the pups play while keeping a close eye on them making sure they dont run too far from the group.

Akila chirped playfully at Abasi and kept running around.

Abasi started to get tired and slowed down, panting.

Akila chirped to him, told ya, you can't out run me.

Abasi panted and looked up at Akila, you're just lucky I haven't had a real breakfast yet.

Digger watched them. That sentance... You can't outrun me... Had he heard that before?

Akila laughed seeig her brother so winded.

Abasi glared at Akila, still panting, just you wait, one day I'll be flying by you.

Akila kept laughing, ohhhh I'm shivering in my fur! Hah!

Sage chuckles as she watched the pups play. Once the females in the group give birth she'll be one of the first to volunteer to babysit. Just thinking about the arrival of new pups is making her feel excited.

Akila ran around Abasi taunting him.

Abasi growled and found the stamina to pounce on her, he nipped playfully at her ears.

Akila yelped with joy and batted him with her paw.
