Roleplay - 10th of October

Jake - 5 months 16 days

Alona and Stardust's litter - 15th of November
Gaz and Unknown Male's litter - 28th of October

Stardust came above ground and scanned the area for danger.

Tak emerges from the burrow and starts to clean the burrow entrance.

Gaz is already up and sits outside her bolthole hunched over on her haunches with her paws placed on her largely extended belly. Her pups are due in less than 3 weeks but she's still injured from the encounter with the Zulu. Her wounds are begining to heal but it'll be a while before she's back to good health. Unfortunately the injureis that were sustained to her stomach may have already caused permanent damage to her unborn pups.

Jake was above ground, digging a rather large hole just for the sake of it.
Bethany helped Tak with cleaning the burrow.

Stardust chirped to Alona, they should probably head out foraging about now.

Tak peeps a good morning the meerkats who just emerged then continues with her burrow cleaning work. She moves to the side of the burrow entrance, pulling away a small flea colony.

Gaz notices some ticks on her shoulder and plucks them off. She sighs depressingly. She no longer has anyone around to clean, protect and comfort her. She hasn't had a decent meal in days and her wieght has begun to drop. If she doesn't find anything nuriting soon she could lose her litter and/or starve to death.

Alona barked and headed out, nodding to Stardust.

Tak follows feeling ravenous. She's built up an apetite from working hard on her chores.

Gaz starts to forage close to the burrow. She doesn't want to risk venturing too far away from her only safty from predators but if she needs to if she wants to build up her strength and gather up all the nutrients she can for her unborn pups she'll willingly take the risk. Despite her injuries she's determined to do what ever it takes to keep her and her unborn pups alive.

Stardust followed Alona closely. He kept looking up to scan the area.

Tak picks up her pace. She's in a good mood and is ready to take on what the day brings.

Gaz pads over to a bush and forages under niethe the desert scrub for protection from aireal predators. She digs into the ground as she feels some of her strength come back to her and it pays off. She pulls up a juicy gecko and savors it's delicious, nutricious taste as she eats it.

Once they reahed the foraging grounds, Stardust quickly climbed a dead tree and stood sentry, unlike he would have in the Stargazers. In his time as a subordinate he was known to be quite lazy.

Tak bounds over to a spot that looks promising. She catches the scent of something delicious just below her feet and plows into the ground. Almost instantly, she pulls up a fat juicy skink and devours it hungrily.

Gaz has wandered far from her burrow and is knowingly heading towards the Zulu. She weakly scratches at the ground hoping there will be something close to the surface.

Alona dug hungrily in the ground, but picking were dry here.

Stardust scanned the area, but saw nothing that looked threatening.

Tak pulls up a skink and eats it quickly.

Even though she's already tired, Gaz pushes herself to keep going. She must find food if her litter and herself is to survive. She manages to spot a cricket on a blade of grass and plucks it off before it could hop away. She eats it ravenously.

Stardust looked to Alona, thinking it was time to head back.

Tak looks up from foraging and realizes that it's getting late. She sits on her haunches to groom some sand from her fur and waits for Alona's call to head for home.

Gaz stands up on her hind legs and looks around. She spots the Zulu off in the distance and gasps then dashes for the cover of a bush hoping they didn't see her. She's still struggling from the wounds she recieved from the last encounter she had with them and the last thing she needs is to have another violent fight with Zulu.

bethany forages, catching herself a millipede.
Jake runs over, and begs loudly to his sister. Bethany, however, ignored Jake's cries and turned her back to him, and began to eat her millipede. Enraged, Jake bounded forward and grabbed one end of the millipede, tugging as hard as he could. Bethany just snorted. No matter what Jake thought, he was no match for her. She pulled, and ripped it free from Jake's grasp, and quickly ran off to finish her millipede in peace.

Since Jake was still a pup, Stardust decided to cut him a break and gave him a beetle to eat.

Tak yawns then lays down on her belly to rest. She's unaware that her sister is hiding behind a bush just a few hundered feet away from the group.

Gaz watches the Zulu through the bush. Watching them forage with safty in numbers has made her doubt her chances of survival if she continues to try to survive on her own. Gaz is getting desperate. Still injured and with the possibility that she could be carrying an ill fated littered, Gaz refuses to spend another night alone. She takes a deep breath before making a potentially risky decision. She gets on to her legs and cautiously limps towards the Zulu mob hoping they accept her back into the group.

Stardust spotted Gaz, he snarled loudly and began to wardance toward her.

Hearing Stardust snarl, Tak looks up to spot her sister, Gaz, near the bush she was hiding behind. She growls and follows Stardust in a wardance. She's far from forgiving her sister for killing her pups.

Gaz's heart sinks when she sees the Zulu start to charge at her. Though she expected it to happen, it's still hearbreaking to know they still don't want her around, especially when her and her unborn pups' lives are hanging by a thread. Not up for another fight, Gaz takes off through the bushes.

Stardust sees her run off and stops. He growled, 'she got what she deserved,' he thought to himself, 'if she hadn't been so selfish and domineering she wouldn't have to deal with this. Some just have to learn their lessons the hard way.' He headed back to the burrow. He reached the entrance and watched to see if she'd return, after what she did to Tak's pups just to give her own a better chance, even if Alona were willing to let her back in, he wouldn't. He wouldn't let her anywhere near them if she'd harm their pups.

Tak stops behind Stardust. She watches Gaz vanish into the desert scrub with a sneer. She could care less if Gaz and her litter survive or not. She just sees it as bad karma for what Gaz did to her pups.

Gaz comes to a stop at a large camel thorn tree, panting. She expected to be chased off by the Zulu and she was right. Gaz sighs depressingly and with a sound of hoplessness in her breath. With darkness falling upon the Kalahari Desert, Gaz whimpers reluctant to want to spend another night alone but it looks to be inevidible. She feels weaker as each day passes and if she continues to live on her own she believes she may not survive to give birth. Over the next several days, Gaz plans to continue to rejoin the group and she's so desprate that she refuses to give up. She wants to show the Zulu that she's learned her lesson and she vows to never harm another pup. Gaz starts to look for a bolthole to spend the night in.

Jake growls at Gaz as he munches on the beetle Stardust gave him.

Tak smirks. Her sister's suffering is pay back for what she did to the group's first litter. Tak resumes to grooming herself, picking off fleas that jumped into her fur.

Gaz trips several times as she walks weakly along a grassy path, exhausted and sore from running around on her still fragile legs. She can barely keep her eyes open and her legs moving but pushes herself to keep going. She must find shelter before nocturnal predators start to surface. Suddenly, she spots a bolthole under a bush and enters it without even bothering to check to see if it's dangerous. All she wants to do right now is sleep. Gaz collapses just a few feet in front of the burrow entrance and falls to sleep.
