RolePlay - 23rd of September

Quagmire follows with a limp at the back of the coalition keeping a low profile.

Once at the burrow, Sargent, Will and Captain take up sentry.

Mikey starts to groom himself.

Quagmire lays down next to the burrow mouth too exhausted to do anything else. After having a terrible day, what he really needs to do rest.

Mikey wished he could comfort Quagmire, but he knew Sargent maught not like that.

Feeling safe around the big strong males of the Barking Boys coalition, Quagmire closes his eyes to rest, reassured that if danger appears, the males will keep him protected.

Mikey looks up and sees some drongos flying around in the air, they could be useful, a bold drongo may mob a bird of prey if one were to appear.

Quagmire is awaken by the chirping sound of birds and looks up at the sky slightly alarmed but when he realizes it's just a flock of drongos he sighs in relief and smiles. They'll fiercly defend themselves and their territory, or unknowingly anything else, if a bird of prey appears

Will got down and tried to forage a little, he dug up a beetle and was about to eat it when he heard the cries of a tawny eagle. He lifted his head and began barking a warning.

Sargent looked around confused, he could hear the bird of prey, but culdn't see it. Neither could Captain nor Mikey.

Suddenlt a drongo swooped down and snatched Will's beetle, and the calls stoped, it had been a trick, drongos were great mimics. Will growled frustrated.

Quagmire hears the cries of the tawny eagle and swiftly gets to his feet. He scans the sky frantically but also doesn't see the bird of prey. He sticks glued to the burrow mouth, chirping nervously, poised to dash down into it at first sight of the tawny eagle but what he sees instead is a drongo swoop down and snatch Will's beetle. He sighs in relief but also out of annoyance. Drongos may be life savers but they can also be a nuisiance.

Sargent snarled, if any of them tried to do that to steal his food, they'd never fly again.

Quagmire lays back down in the sand and closes his eyes hoping there won't be any more disturbances.

Sargent saw some gemsbok on the horizon, but nothing to fear.

Quagmire turns onto his back and enjoys the sun's warm raise on his belly.
